ABSTRACT 2-Amino-1-(1,3-dioxolan-4-yl)-ethanol compounds, their preparation and use The invention relates to 2-amino-1-(1,3-dioxolan- 4-yl)-ethanol compounds of the general formula Image (I), in which R1 and R2 are the same or different and represent hydrogen, a (C1 to C4)alkyl group or a (C1 to C4)- alkoxy group with the proviso that if one represents a (C1 to C4)alkoxy group the other represents a (C1 to C4)- alkyl group or R1 and R2 together represent an alkylene radical having 5 or 6 carbon atoms, their preparation and use. The compounds of the general formula I are espe- cially suitable for preparing shadow-forming substances for use in X-ray contrast agents.
