A 2-aminoquinoline derivative represented by the general formula [I]: wherein R1 and R2 each represents lower alkyl, lower cycloalkyl, etc. or R1 and R2 in combination form an aliphatic nitrogenous heterocycle in cooperation with the nitrogen atom bonded to these; R3, R4 , R5, R6, and R7 each represents hydrogen, lower alkyl, etc.; R8 represents lower alkyl, lower alkyloxy, etc.; and n is an integer of 0 to 4. The compound functions as a melanin- concentrating hormone receptor antagonist and is useful as a medicine for central diseases, circulatory diseases, or metabolic diseases.
