A B S T R A C T Herbicidally active 2-fluorobenzyl ether derivatives having the following formula:- Image wherein R1 and R2 each individually represents an alkyl group; R3 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl, carboxyl, alkoxycarbonyl or a group of formula -CONR5R6 in which R5 and R6 each individually represents a hydrogen atom, an optionally substituted alkyl or aryl group or an optionally substituted N-alkylcarbamoyl or N-arylcarbamoyl group, or R2 and R3 together represent a polymethylene group; and R4 represents a 2-fluorobenzyl group.
