ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Antitumor-acting 2-(hydroxy-phenyl)-indoles having the general formula Image (I) in which R1 represents hydrogen, a hydroxy group or a C2-C6- alkanoyloxy group; R2 represents hydrogen, a hydroxy group, a C2-C6-alkanoyloxy group or a halogen atom; R3 represents a C1-C6- alkyl group; R4 represents hydrogen or a C1-C6-alkyl group; R5 represents a hydroxy group or a C2-C6-alkanoyloxy group; R6 re- presents hydrogen or a halogen atom; and R7 represents hydrogen or a halogen atom. Processes for their preparation are also given.
