23189-7312 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed are novel 2-substituted quinolines of the formula: Image (I) (wherein A, B, D, E, G and L are each H, OH, halogen, cyano, carboxyl, nitro, CF3, OCF3, C1-8 alkyl, C1-8 alkoxy or optionally substituted C6-10 aryl, R1 is halogen, cyano, nitro, azido, CF3, OCF3, SCF3, C1-8 alkoxy, C1-8 acyl, optionally substituted C1-8 alkyl, C6-10 aryl, C2-6 alkenyl, -NR4R5 [in which R4 and R5 are each H, C1-8 alkyl, phenyl, acetyl or benzoyl] or 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring, R2 is C3-12 cycloalkyl or -alkenyl, R3 is OR6 or -NR7-SO2-R8, R6 is H, C1-8 alkyl or phenyl, R7 is H or C1-6 alkyl, and R8 is optionally substituted C6-10 aryl, C1-8 alkyl). The new substituted quinolines are useful as active substances in medicaments, in particular as lipoxygenase inhibitors.
