The present invention provides novel C24-aryl sulfone analogs of 1.alpha.,25- dihydroxy vitamin D3 of formula (I) : wherein R1-R7 have the meanings given in the description, x is 0-2; and represents a single or a double bond, compositions comprising these compounds and methods of using these compounds as selective inhibitors of CYP24. In particular, the compounds of the invention are useful for treating diseases which benefit from a modulation of the levels of 1.alpha.,25-dihydroxy vitamin D3, for example, cell- proliferative disorders.
La présente invention concerne des analogues d'aryl sulfone C24 de la 1.alpha.,25 dihydroxy vitamine D¿3? de formule (I), dans laquelle R?1¿-R?7¿ ont les significations citées dans le descriptif, x est compris entre 0 et 2, et ---- représente une liaison simple ou double. Cette invention a également trait à des compositions renfermant ces composés et à des méthodes d'utilisation de ces composés, en tant qu'inhibiteurs sélectifs de CYP24. On utilise, notamment, les composés de cette invention dans le traitement de maladies qui bénificient d'une modulation des niveaux de la 1.alpha.,25 dihydroxy vitamine D¿3?, par exemple, les troubles prolifératifs de cellules.
