In a series of 3-(substituted phenoxy)-1-azetidinecarboxamides, introduction of a chlorine atom at the 2-position of the phenoxy group of the corresponding 4-trifluoromethylphenoxy-1-azetidinecarboxamides resulted in unexpected increased potency in anticonvulsant pharmacological tests.
