The present invention is novel compounds which are 3,5-di-tertiary-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl substituted 1,2,4-and 1,3,4-thiadazoles and oxadiazoles, and 1,2,4-triazoles, and pharmaceutically acceptable additions and base salts thereof, pharmaceutical compositions and methods of use therefor. The invention compounds are now found to have activity as inhibitors of 5-lipoxygenase and/or cyclooxygenase providing treatment of conditions advantageously affected by such inhibition including inflammation, arthritis, pain, fever, and the like the compounds have the following general structure (see fig. I) I where W is a five membered heterocyclic ring.
La présente invention porte sur de nouveaux composés, soit les 1,2,4- et 1,3,4-thiadazoles et oxadiazoles, et les 1,2,4-triazoles, substitués par un groupement 3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphényle et les additions et sels basiques pharmaceutiquement acceptables de ces derniers, des compositions pharmaceutiques et des méthodes d'utilisation de ces derniers. On constate maintenant que les composés de l'invention exercent une activité comme inhibiteurs de la 5-lipoxygénase et/ou de la cyclooxygénase, procurant ainsi un traitement contre des maladies soulagées par une telle inhibition, dont l'inflammation, l'arthrite, la douleur, la fièvre, et autres affections semblables. Les composés ont la structure générale suivante (voir fig. I) I où W est un noyau hétérocyclique à cinq atomes.
