ABSTRACT This invention concerns novel 3,6-bis(sub- stituted) acridine N-oxides and N,N-dioxides which are active as modulators of the immune system in warm- -blooded animals and a method of restoring, stimulating or enhancing the immune system in a warm-blooded animal which comprises administering to said animal an effec- tive amount of said compound and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof in association with a pharma- ceutically acceptable carrier, adjuvant or diluent.
