ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE 3-carbamoyloxyalkylpropiolic acid derivatives rep- resented by the general formula: Image (VI) which are intermediates in the preparation of 2-carbamoy- loxyalkyl-1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives represented by the general formula: Image (I) where R1 is halogen, cyano, nitro, hydroxyl, di-lower alkyl substituted amino or lower alkoxy, each of R2 and R3 is lower alkyl, haloalkyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, aralkyl, aryl, hydroxyalkyl, lower alkoxyalkyl, lower alken- yloxyalkyl, aralkyloxyalkyl, aryloxyalkyl or Image (where B is straight-chained or branched alkylene, and each of R7 and R8 is lower alkyl, aralkyl or aryl, or R7 and R8 form, together with the adjacent nitrogen atom, a heterocyclic group), R4 is hydrogen or lower alkyl, haloalkyl, hydroxy- alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl or aryl, or R5 and R6 form, together with the adjacent nitrogen atom, a heterocyclic group.
