This invention relates to heteroatom substituted cyclopentadienyl-containing ligands, metal complexes containing these ligands, catalyst systems prepared from catalyst components comprising these metal complexes. The metal complexes contain a "a" heteroatom-Cp bond or a ring heteroatom-Cp bond in the 3-position of the Cp. In preferred metal complexes the ligand is a 3-heteroatom substituted indenyl group. The catalyst systems for olefin polymerization may be used at high temperatures, are highly active and produce high molecular weight polymer.
L'invention concerne des ligands contenant du cyclopentadiényle à substitution d'hétéroatome, des complexes métalliques contenant lesdits ligands et des systèmes de catalyseur à base de composants de catalyse qui comprennent lesdits complexes métalliques. Les complexes métalliques contiennent une liaison "a" hétéroatome-Cp ou une liaison cyclique hétéroatome-Cp en position 3 du Cp. Dans les complexes métalliques préférés, le ligand est un groupe indényle à 3 hétéroatomes substitués. Les systèmes de catalyseur pour la polymérisation de l'oléfine peuvent être utilisés à des températures élevées, sont très actifs et permettent de produire un polymère à poids moléculaire élevé.
