The disclosed invention relates to novel 3'-N-O, 9-O-oxime protected, 6-O- alkyl erythromycin derivatives of formula (I), a process of preparing the same. The invention also relates to a process of preparing 6- O-alkyl erythromycin A by eliminating the 3'-N-oxide group and 9-O-oxime protecting groups and optionally deprotecting the hydroxy groups at the 2'- and 4"- positions under suitable reaction conditions.

Cette invention a trait à de nouveaux dérivés de 3'-N-O, à protection 9-O-oxime, 6-O-alkyle érythromycine A répondant à la formule (I) et à un procédé de préparation de ces dérivés. Elle concerne également un procédé de préparation de 6-O-alkyle érythromycine A par élimination du groupe 3'-N-oxyde et des groupes de protection 9-O-oxime et, éventuellement, par retrait de la protection des groupes hydroxy aux positions 2'- et 4''- et ce dans des conditions de réaction appropriées.
