Abstract Novel 3-phenylpyrrole derivatives of the formula I Image (I), wherein R1 is cyano, trifluoromethyl or C1-C4-alkoxycarbonyl, R2 is vinyl or a group -CH2-CH2-X, in which X is chlorine or bromine, or is cyano, C1-C4-alkoxycarbonyl, phenylsulfonyl, 4-bromophenylsulfonyl or 4-methylphenylsulfonyl, R is halogen, C1-C4-alkyl or C1-C4-haloalkyl, and n is zero, one or two, have valuable microbicidal properties for controlling phytopathogenic plant pests, particularly phytopathogenic fungi.
