The invention relates to a fabric having a base pattern comprising: at least 28 weft fibres (1...28), arranged in a staggered fashion and forming 8 columns (C1...C8), which comprise 4 and 3 weft fibres alternately, the weft fibres extending along 7 levels (N1...N7); at least 12 warp fibres (A...L) arranged in at least 4 offset parallel planes, each of these planes containing at least 3 parallel weft fibres which follow paths that are different from one plane to another.
