A method of rendering three dimensional visualizations of two dimensional geophysical data includes converting each of a plurality of two dimensional data sets into a respective two dimensional image using two dimensional geological modeling and displaying the two dimensional images in a three dimensional space, the two dimensional images being located within the three dimensional space based on spatial relationships between locations from which the two dimensional data sets originate. An embodiment includes a system for performing the method.

Procédé de restitution de visualisations tridimensionnelles de données géophysiques bidimensionnelles. Ce procédé consiste à convertir chacune d'une pluralité de jeus de données bidimensionnelles en une image bidimensionnelle correspondante au moyen d'une modélisation géologique bidimensionnelle et à afficher les images bidimensionnelles dans un espace tridimensionnel, les images bidimensionnelles étant positionnées dans l'espace tridimensionnel selon les relations spatiales entre les emplacements d'où sont tirés les jeux de données bidimensionnelles. Dans un mode de réalisation, l'invention concerne un système de mise en oeuvre de ce procédé.
