The present invention is directed to a method of preventing the development or recurrence of colorectal cancer in a mammal comprising administering to the mammal, an effective cancer preventive amount of 4-(4'-hydroxyphenyl)-amino- 6,7-dimethoxyquinazoline or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
