ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to new (4S)-4-aminobutanoic acid derivatives of general formula : Image in which : R represents an N-protective group, R1 represents hydrogen, an alkali metal atom such as lithium, sodium or potassium or a labile group, R2 represents a group of formula : Image or Image in which W represents hydrogen, a hydroxy group or an alkyl radical containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms or an alkoxy radical containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and to a process for the preparati.on of the said derivatives. The 4-aminobutanoic acid derivatives according to the invention are useful as synthesis intermediates for the preparation of peptides derived from statin analogues.
