Abstract New compounds having the formula Image , and salts thereof, wherein R1 is a readily hydrolyzable acyl protecting group; R2 is hydrogen or alkyl; R3 is hydrogen, alkyl or arylalkyl; n is 1 or 2; and p is 1 or 2 inhibit the action of angiotensin converting enzyme and are, therefore, useful for the treatment of hypertension in mammals.
