Abstract of the Disclosure This application is directed to 2-amino-.alpha.-phenylphen- ethyl amines. These compounds are intermediates in the prepara- tion of novel 4-phenyl-1,3-benzodiazepines. The benzodiazepines are useful as antidepressants, analgetics and anticonvulsants.
