4-SUBSTITUTED ISOXAZOLES Abstract of the Disclosure A compound having the structure: Image wherein R is selected from hydroxy, alkoxy wherein the alkyl portion has 1 to 10 carbon atoms, meta or para substituted phenoxy, amino, unsubstituted anilino, meta substituted anilino, para substituted anilino and alkylamino of 1 to 10 carbon atoms. These compounds are useful as herbicides, which combine the features of effectiveness and stability over a comparatively long period of time.
