Abstract of the Invention Described are the compounds 5,6-dimethoxy-2- (4-benzyl-1-piperidino) benzimidazole and 5,6-dimethoxy- 2-(6,7-dimethoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-2-isoquinolinyl) benzimi- dazole and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof. The compounds are useful as antihypertensive agents.
