ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel compounds of the formula I, useful as intermediates in the preparation of biologically active compounds, can be prepared by halogenation of a compound of the formula II and subsequent removal of the -COR7 group: Image (I) Image (II) wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 each independently represent hydrogen or an alkyl group of up to 6 carbon atoms, and Hal represents a chlorine, bromine or iodine atom.
