ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A Derivative of 5-hetero-6-oxo-PGE A derivative of 5-hetero-6-oxo-PGE of the formula: (I) Image wherein R1 is (1) a group of the formula: COOR11 wherein R11 is hydrogen or an esterifying group: (2) hydroxymethylcarbonyl, (3) hydroxymethyl or (4) a group of the formula: CO-AA wherein AA is an amino acid -residue, Z is oxygen, sulfur or an amino group, R2 is a single-bond or alkylene, R3 is alkyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl or phenoxy, and ? is single-bond or a double bond, non-toxic salts thereof or cyclodextrin clathrate thereof possess PG-like activity, especially cytoprotective activity.
