PRECIS Les 5-hydroxy 1,4-naphtoquinones répondant à la formule générale: Image (I) dans laquelle R1 et R2 identiques ou différents désignent indépendamment l'un de l'autre un atome d'hydrogène, un groupement méthyle, méthoxy, nitro ou un atome d'halogène; R3 et R4 identiques ou différents désignent indépendamment l'un de l'autre un atome d'hydrogène, un groupement hydroxyle, méthyle ou méthoxy; R5 désigne un atome d'hydrogène, un groupement méthyle ou méthoxy sous réserve que l'un au moins des substituants R1 ou R2 est différent de l'hydrogène lors- que R3, R4 et R5 désignent simultanément un atome d'hydrogène, sont utilisées pour la teinture des fibres kératiniques hu- maines et en particulier des cheveux. Les hydroxynaphtoqui- nones de formule (I) possèdent une bonne puissance tincto- riale et une faible sensibilité à l'oxydation.
