ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed are 5-nitro-1-methyl-imidlazolyl-3-terbutyl-2-hydroxy-aryl- carbinols of general formula (I) Image (I) in which R' is either a linear or branched C1-C10 alkyl radical, or - OR", in which R" is a linear or branched C1-C10 alkyl radical, characterized by having a remarkable antibacterial activity against Helicobapter pylori, a process for their preparation, and relative pharmaceutical compositions as adjuvants in the treatment of gastric ulcer.
