Abstract of the Disclosure Novel beta-lactamase inhibitors which are 6-alpha- and 6-beta-(aminomethyl) and (1-aminoethyl) penicillanic acid 1-dioxides, said aminomethyl compounds being substituted on amino nitrogen with benzyl, hydroxybenzyl, picolyl or phenethyl; and their pharmaceutically-acceptable salts are useful particu- larly in combination with conventional beta-lactam antibiotics against microorganisms resistant to beta-lactam antibiotics through production of beta-lactamase enzymes.
