A 6XXX series aluminium alloy containing Mg and Si is disclosed. The 6XXX series aluminium alloy is characterised in that the Mg and Si that is available to form MgSi precipitates is present in amounts such that the ratio of Mg:Si, on an atomic weight basis, is between 0.8:1 and 1.2:1.

Cette invention se rapporte à un alliage d'aluminium de la seérie 6xxx contenant du magnésium et du silicium. Cet alliage d'aluminium de la serie 6xxx se caractérise en ce que les quantités de magnésium et de silicium, susceptibles de former des précipités de MgSi, sont telles que le rapport de Mg à Si, exprimé comme le rapport des masses atomiques, est compris entre 0,8 pour 1 et 1,2 pour 1.
