HA157 ABSTRACT 7-Oxabicycloheptane- and 7-Oxabicycloheptene Compounds New compounds, useful as cardiovascular agents, have the general formulas Image alkyl and Image and Image alkylene-COOR1 wherein R1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl; R2 is -CHO, -CH20H or -CH=CH-R3-lower alkylene-CH3; R3 is keto or hydroxymethyl; x is 0 or 1; and the dotted line is an optional double bond. The compounds represented by the first two general formulas are also useful as intermediates for the preparation of compounds represented by the third general formula.
