- 1 - Abstract: The invention provides novel 8-chloro-1,5-benzothiaze- pine derivatives of the formula: Image (I) wherein R1 is hydrogen, lower alkyl or a group having the formula: R4CO-, each of R2 and R3 is a lower alkyl and R4 is hydrogen or lower alkyl, and a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof. These derivatives of formula I and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof are useful as hypotensive agents and/or coronary or cerebral vasodilators.
