ABSTRACT This invention relates to a compound of the formula: Image wherein X is S, SO, or SO2; R1 is hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy or halogen; R2 is hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy or halogen; and n is an integer from 1 to 4 inclusive. The 8-chlorodi- benz[b,f][1,4]oxazepine-10(11H)-carboxylic acid, 2-[(substi- tuted phenylsulfinyl)alkanoyl]hydrazides and 8-chlorodibenz- [b,f][1,4]oxazepine-10(11H)-carboxylic acid, 2-[(substituted phenylsulfonyl)alkanoyl]hydrazides are useful as prostaglan- din antagonists and analgesic agents while the 8-chlorodi- benz[b,f][1,4]oxazepine-10(11H)-carboxylic acid, 2-[(substi- tuted phenylthio)alkanoyl]hydrazides are useful as inter- mediates in the preparation of the corresponding sulfinyl and sulfonyl compounds.
