The present invention provides a bandage and a method of making a bandage from a fabric such as a knitted fabric, for example. The fabric is a steamed, sprayed with a solution containing an antibacterial/antimicrobial agent in a spraying chamber (28) and then dried in a drying chamber (40). The bandage includes an amount of antibacterial/antimicrobial agent of from about 0.175 to about 0.6 grams per kilogram weight of the fabric.
