A biofouling monitor is described which has a column having an inlet and an outlet; a microorganism nutrient feed line located upstream of the inlet; and a first pressure sensor located upstream of the inlet for measuring flow pressure and a second pressure system located downstream of the outlet for measuring flow pressure. Also described is a biofouling monitor which further has a recirculation system and optionally inert packing material located in the column. A method to monitor or detect biofouling ahead of time in an aqueous system is further disclosed.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif de surveillance d'encrassement biologique comportant une colonne pourvue d'une entrée et d'une sortie; une ligne d'alimentation de nutriments microorganiques située en amont de l'entrée; ainsi qu'un premier capteur de pression situé en amont de l'entrée pour mesurer la pression du débit, et un second système de pression situé en aval de la sortie pour mesurer la pression du débit. En outre, cette invention concerne un dispositif de surveillance d'encrassement biologique qui comprend également un système de recirculation et éventuellement un matériau de tassement inerte dans la colonne. En l'occurrence, cette invention concerne un procédé permettant de surveiller ou de détecter en avance l'encrassement dans un système aqueux.
