A bird repellent composition containing a combination of anthraquinone and a visual cue; or anthraquinone and d-pulegone; or anthraquinone, a visual cue and d-pulegone is disclosed. The combinations have been found to produce a synergistic and unexpected effect of increased repellence to birds. One application is the area of pest control baits where the repellent composition is applied to the surface of the bait. Bird is less likely to be harmed by the toxins contained within the bait because they are repelled from the bait. A second application is for horticulture use, whereby the repellent composition is applied to the plant, fruit or ground around an orchard or vineyard thus repelling birds.
L'invention concerne une composition de répulsif pour oiseaux contenant une combinaison d'anthraquinone et un repère visuel ou de l'anthraquinone et de la d-pulegone ; ou de l'anthraquinone, un repère visuel et de la d-pulegone. Il a été découvert que ces combinaisons produisent un effet répulsif synergique et inattendu sur les oiseaux. Une des applications de l'invention est le domaine des appâts pour la lutte antiparasitaire, la composition répulsive étant appliquée sur la surface de l'appât. Les oiseaux ont peu de risque d'être affectés par les toxines contenues dans l'appât, car ils en sont repoussés. Une seconde application concerne l'horticulture, la composition répulsive étant appliquée à une plante, à un fruit, à un sol autour d'un verger ou de vignes, et repoussant ainsi les oiseaux.
