A CD carrying case having a built-in pop up cover is disclosed. The case comprises a box-like base shell adapted to receive the compact disc and a cover shell sized to fit over the base shell and having a rear end hingely connected to a rear end of the base shell. The cover shell is pivotable between an open position away from the base shell for opening the case and a close position against the base shell for closing the case. The case further comprises a locking mechanism for releasably locking the cover shell in the close position and at least one torsional spring element adapted to cooperate with the locking mechanism for biasingly popping up the cover shell in the open position as the locking mechanism is released. The case disclosed combines simplicity and inexpensiveness to manufacture with durability and trouble-free in operation. The case for storing a CD in accordance with the present invention is further reliable and long lasting since it does not require the conventional fragile plastic legs and it minimizes the amount of components required to perform the pop-up opening operation.
L'invention concerne un boîtier de disque compact à couvercle pression intégré. Ledit boîtier se compose d'une base du type boîte conçue pour recevoir le disque compact et d'un couvercle aux dimensions adaptées pour venir fermer la base possédant une extrémité arrière accouplée par des charnières à une extrémité arrière de la base. Ce couvercle peut pivoter entre une position ouverte, éloignée de la base, servant à ouvrir le boîtier, et une position fermée le plaquant contre la base de manière à fermer ledit boîtier. Le boîtier comprend, en outre, un mécanisme de verrouillage destiné au verrouillage libérable du couvercle en position fermée et un élément ressort de torsion conçu pour coopérer avec ledit mécanisme de verrouillage de manière à provoquer l'ouverture du couvercle sous l'effet d'une pression lorsque le mécanisme de verrouillage est débloqué. Ledit boîtier combine simplicité et coûts de fabrication réduits à une durée de vie prolongée et à un fonctionnement sans encombres. En outre, le boîtier de rangement pour disque compact selon la présente invention est fiable et durable dans la mesure où il n'utilise par les pattes de plastique fragiles classiques et où il minimise la quantité de composants nécessaires à la réalisation de l'opération d'ouverture par pression.
