An air-oxidation haircolor composition is based : a) water; b) water soluble metal salt as a catalyst; c) etidronic acid (l-hydroxyethane-l,l-diphosphonic acid) as a chelating agent and color deposition enhancer; d) oxidation primary dye intermediates; e) an aromatic triol such asl,2,4-Benzenetriol; f) auxiliary oxidation dye couplers; g) dye antioxidants and stabilizers; h) optionally, a water soluble surfactant; i) optionally, a water soluble anionic polymer; j) a water soluble solvent system; and k) an alkalizer.
