The present invention relates to a catheter with a balloon characterized by a feature that the balloon is reinforced with a composite yarn consisting of an elastic yarn and a non-elastic yarn with a larger free length than that of said elastic yarn. As the catheter with a balloon has a balloon with large stretchability, when the catheter is inserted into a blood vessel or taken out on a surginal operation, it is possible not only to make surely the diameter small without producing any wrinkle but to stretch surely to the same size and the same shape at any time. Therefore, not only reliability of the surginal operation is improved but also a cut wound for the surginal operation could be smaller. There exist such advantages that treatment and management after the surginal operation are simple and the time required for recovery is extremely short and smaller daily burdens of a patient and an attendant are needed.
