A seat (1), especially a child's seat with a seat component (4) ad- justable on a frame for use in a motor vehicle or other means of transport, where the frame member is divided into a lower section (3) for securing to the base, and an upper section (2) for possible releasable securing of the seat component (4). The frame member's upper (2) and lower (3) sections have mutually facing con- vex contact surfaces (10, 15, 16) for movement in relation to each other, and that between the convex con- tact surfaces (10) there is provided a weight (6) for movement between a first and second position. Further- more the frame member's upper (2) and lower (3) sections are equipped with guides, preferably first (7) and second (8) guide pieces for move- ment between the first and the sec- ond position. The weight (6) is re- leasably secured by a locking ele- ment (12) in the first position and by a second locking element (13) in the second position, and there are fur- ther provided buffers (14, 20) in order to check the seat's (4) kinetic energy.
