A circuit arrangement for the subscriber-remote termination of a subscriber line in the form of a two-wire copper line for the transmission of high-bit rate data signals in addition to analog telephone signals Devices such as splitter (SP) and modem (ADSL-CH) at the exchange end are so integrated into the connection circuit (TSCH) for the subscriber line (TL) that they are protected there by the existing voltage surge protection system (OVP).
