An improved arrangement is provided for cleaning a forming wire of papermaking apparatus of the kind in which paper stock is ejected from a headbox onto a forming wire, the water within the stock being drained through the forming wire to leave a formed web on the moving forming wire for subsequent passage to a press section. Cleaning apparatus according to the invention comprises a shower disposed upstream from the turning roll for spraining a cleaning liquid on the forming wire; a housing disposed between the shower and the turning roll configured to permit a flow of pressurized air therethrough directed against the wire for removing at least part of the cleaning liquid, the housing including an opening that cooperates with the turning roll for substantially sealing the opening against loss of pressurized air. This improved arrangement utilizes the interaction of a housing connected to a source of air pressure and a forming turning roll for the cleaning of the forming wire of a papermaking machine.
La présente invention concerne un appareil de nettoyage (10) destiné au nettoyage d'une toile de formation (12) s'étendant autour d'un rouleau d'entraînement (14) de toile d'une machine à papier. L'appareil comprend un rinceur (16) disposé en amont par rapport au rouleau d'entraînement (14), conçu pour pulvériser un liquide de nettoyage sur la toile de formation (12). Un logement (20) est disposé entre le rinceur (16) et ledit rouleau (14), le logement (20) étant relié à une source d'air sous pression (22). Le logement (20) forme une ouverture pourvue d'une première et d'une seconde extrémité, ainsi qu'un orifice (30) possédant une extrémité en amont (32) et une autre en aval (34) permettant au flux (36) d'air sous pression de les traverser et d'être dirigé contre la toile (12) pour la débarrasser, au moins que partiellement, du liquide de nettoyage. L'ouverture (24) coopère avec ledit rouleau (14) pour qu'elle (24) épouse sa forme (14) de manière à fermer sensiblement l'ouverture de façon hermétique et empêcher la perte de l'air sous pression, le flux de l'air sous pression étant directement dirigé à travers l'orifice.
