A tool holder (15) having radially movable jaws or gripping members (11) define an axial tool shank receiving passage therebetween. A tool (27) having a shank portion (28) which may be received in the shank receiving passage of the tool holder (15). The jaws or gripping members (11) and the shank portion (28) of the tool define cooperating male and female retaining means (29, 30) for releasably retaining the shank portion of the tool within the shank receiving passage of the tool holder. The female retaining means comprises an annular channel or groove (29) for receiving the male retaining means (30) therein.
Porte-outil (15) pourvu de pièces de préhension ou de mâchoires radialement mobiles (11) délimitant entre elles un passage axial apte à accueillir la queue d'un outil; et outil (27) pourvu d'une queue (28) apte à s'emboîter dans le passage prévu pour l'accueillir dans le porte-outil (15). Les pièces de préhension ou mâchoires (11) et la queue (28) de l'outil constituent des organes de retenue mâle et femelle (29, 30) servant à retenir de manière réversible la queue de l'outil dans le passage prévu pour l'accueillir dans le porte-outil. L'organe de retenue femelle comporte une gorge ou rainure annulaire (29) adaptée pour accueillir l'organe de retenue mâle (30).
