A water-containing compact detergent composition having a controllably variable strength containing an aqueous lye solution, a viscosity increasing agent selected from a compound corresponding to formula I or formula II HOCH2CH(R1)OR2 (I) [HOCH2CH(R8)3-x NH x (II) and a solid alkali metal hydroxide. The product is useful in domestic or institutional dishwashing machines.

L'invention vise à préparer des nettoyants fortement alcalins, pour produire un nettoyant compact pour lave-vaisselle industriels, à base d'hydroxyde alcalin, de préférence d'hydroxyde de sodium, associant les avantages des poudres et des liquides d'une part, et les avantages des comprimés et des blocs fondus, et présentant une solidité pouvant être modifiée de façon contrôlée lors de la fabrication et du stockage. A cet effet, on mélange une lessive alcaline aqueuse avec un composé de formule (I) HOCH2CH(R<1>)OR<2>, et/ou de formule (II) [HOCH2CH(R<8>)3-xNHx pour obtenir une élévation de la viscosité, puis on ajoute ensuite de l'hydroxyde alcalin solide, de préférence de l'hydroxyde de potassium ou de sodium, de façon idéale de l'hydroxyde de sodium.
