Abstract of the Disclosure Described is a compound material which is of simple con- struction, can be manufactured at low cost and is suitable for universal employ. The compound material consists of a carrying framework in the form of a grid structure 1 and a plastic sheet 2 affixed thereto. In an advantageous embodiment as shown in fig. 4, the grid structure 1 con- sists of a metal grid enclosed between plastic sheets 2a and 2b shrunk thereonto Between one side of the grid structure 1 and the respective plastic sheet 2a there is interposed a mesh structure 3 for strengthening the sheet and protecting it against penetration.
