-20- The present invention relates to the connections between respiratory humidifiers and/or other such devices and heated breathing conduits used to couple a patient to the humidifier. In particular, the invention is a connector to couple a gases supply means and a conduit, such that the connector causes there to be an electrical and pneumatic, that is, sealed connection between a conduit including an electrical wire extending within, throughout or about it and a gases supply device, such as a humidifier, blower or the like. The connector may be of a single port type or a dual port type. The dual port type connector is suitable for ventilator apparatus that have a dry line (dry breathing conduit) extending from a ventilator or blower that carries dry gas to a humidifier and an inspiratory limb that extends from the humidifier to the patient and carries humidified gases to the patient.
La présente invention porte sur les connexions entre des humidificateurs respiratoires et/ou des dispositifs de ce type et les tuyaux respiratoires chauffants utilisés pour brancher un patient à l'humidificateur. Plus précisément, l'objet de l'invention est un connecteur pour coupler un moyen d'alimentation en gaz et un tuyau, de telle sorte que le connecteur produise une connexion électrique et pneumatique qui est scellée, entre un tuyau parcouru par un fil électrique à l'intérieur, à travers ou alentour, et un dispositif d'alimentation en gaz tel qu'un humidificateur, un souffleur ou une machine de ce type. Le connecteur peut être à simple ou à double port. Le connecteur à double port convient à un appareil de ventilation qui possède une ligne sèche (conduit de respiration sèche) transportant un gaz sec d'un ventilateur ou d'un souffleur vers un humidificateur et un membre inspiratoire allant de l'humidificateur au patient pour transporter à ce dernier des gaz humidifiés.
