In a construction including an implement for automatically milking animals, such as cows, there are one or more milking boxes (1) with one or more milking robots for automatically connecting teat cups (18) to the teats of the animals. In addition, the implement includes a detector (10) for determining the position of the teats. This detector (10) is disposed on a separate robot arm construction and is constructed in such a manner that the detector beams can be at different angles with respect to the teats of the animals to be milked.
