A container (1) for a roller-applied viscous coating compositions (5) which facilitates non-messy loading of the composition onto a roller and non-messy removal of excess composition from the roller. The container has an opening large enough to allow insertion of the roller and also a grid (6) located below the opening but extending only part way across the container so as to leave access (7) to a lower portion (1a) of the container below the grid where when in use, coating composition is stored. Insertion of the roller into the composition and its subsequent withdrawal load excess composition onto the roller. The excess composition can be removed from the roller by rolling it across the grid from where the excess drips back into the main volume of the composition. Loading the roller, removal of the excess and its return to the lower portion all occur within the container so avoiding mess. Also the lidded container when containing coating composition and its use in a procedure for coating rough surfaces using high viscosity coating compositions.
L'invention concerne un récipient (1) pour compositions visqueuses (5) appliquées par rouleau (5) qui permet de répartir proprement la composition sur le rouleau et de retirer tout aussi proprement l'excès de ladite composition du rouleau. Ce récipient comporte une ouverture suffisamment grande pour permettre l'introduction du rouleau et d'une grille (6) juste en-dessous de l'ouverture. Cette grille ne traverse que partiellement le récipient pour ménager un accès (7) à la partie inférieure (1a) du récipient qui, pendant l'utilisation, contient la composition de revêtement. Plonger et retirer le rouleau de la composition entraîne un dépôt abondant de matière sur le rouleau. On peut retirer cet excès de matière du rouleau en faisant rouler ce dernier sur la grille ; l'excès s'égoutte ainsi dans le volume initial de la composition. Pour éviter les risques de salissures, l'ensemble des opérations de dépôt de composition sur le rouleau, d'élimination de l'excès de composition et son retour dans la partie inférieure du récipient ont toutes lieu dans le récipient. Il est à noter que ce récipient pour composition de revêtement est assorti d'un couvercle lorsqu'il est plein. L'invention concerne enfin l'utilisation de ce récipient pour enduire des surfaces rugueuses de compositions de revêtement de haute viscosité.
