- 16 - A Continuously Operating Inspection Machine for Vessels ABSTRACT The present invention refers to an inspection machine for inspecting vessels, in particular bottles made of transparent plastic material or of glass, said ma- chine comprising at least one examination means ar- ranged in a stationary manner and used for detecting impurities or damage at the bottom, side-wall or ori- fice areas of vessels. In order to be able to detect defects which impair the leakproofness of vessels and which cannot reliably be detected by optoelectronic means, the vessels are additionally subjected to a leak test in said inspection machine.
