A method and apparatus for reducing latency in a group communication network (100) provides for a significant reduction in the actual total dormancy wakeup time and the PTT{XE"PTT"} latency by exchanging group call signaling even when mobiles (102, 102, 106) are dormant and no traffic channel is active. The method and apparatus provides for exchanging the group call signaling through the use of the short data burst (SDB) message signaling. The method and apparatus provides for re-establishing dedicated traffic channels for the talker mobile and the dormant listener mobiles advantageously in parallel.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de réduction du temps d'attente dans un réseau (100) de communication de groupe, permettant d'obtenir une réduction significative du temps total réel de latence-réveil et du temps d'attente PTT{XE"PTT"} par échange de signalisation d'appel de groupe, y compris lorsque les mobiles sont en mode de latence et qu'aucun canal de trafic n'est actif. Ce procédé et cet appareil permettent d'échanger la signalisation d'appel de groupe par utilisation de la signalisation de message par courtes rafales de données (SDB). Le procédé et l'appareil permettent de réétablir en parallèle les canaux de trafic spécialisés pour le mobile de l'émetteur et les mobiles en mode de latence des récepteurs.
