A coupling arrangement for coupling together rail vehicles such as railway carriages and locomotives, consisting of a coupling head comprising a coupling housing (1) joined to the rail vehicle and having an active coupling device in the form of a plunger (2) movable between an outer and an inner position and designed to co-operate with a similar plunger in a corresponding coupling head when two coupling heads are coupled together, the plungers (2) being movable in directions that are substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal directions of the coupling heads and can be released at uncoupling. A locking device (7) is provided in the coupling arrangement and comprises a locking member (7.5) arranged to be brought into contact with the plunger (2) when this is in its outer position and to prevent the plunger (2) being displaced from this position.
La présente invention concerne un système de couplage destiné à relier ensemble des véhicules sur rails tels que des wagons et des locomotives. Ledit système consiste en une tête de couplage comprenant un boîtier de couplage (1) fixé sur le véhicule sur rails, et possédant un dispositif de couplage actif se présentant sous la forme d'un piston (2) pouvant se déplacer entre une position externe et une position interne et conçu pour interagir avec un piston similaire se trouvant dans une tête de couplage correspondante, lorsque deux têtes de couplage sont accouplées, les pistons (2) pouvant se déplacer dans des directions qui sont sensiblement perpendiculaires aux directions longitudinales des têtes de couplage et pouvant être relâchés lors du découplage. Un dispositif de verrouillage (7) se trouve dans le système de couplage et comprend un élément de couplage (7.5) positionné de manière à entrer en contact avec le piston (2) lorsqu'il se trouve dans sa position externe et à empêcher le piston (2) de quitter cette position.
