A cover assembly (10) for a medication dispenser (12) including a container (12) defining a plurality of open-top medication compartments (38) adapted to be closed by a compartment cover assembly (10) including a plurality of individual covers (40) selectively connected together. Each cover (40) includes an integral fracturable tab (58) depending from one end and coacting means on the container (12) for securing the tabs (58) in a snap-fit relationship when the cover (40) is positioned to close its respective compartments (38). Each tab (58) is independently secured relative to the container (12) and fractured from its respective cover in response to upward movement of the opposite end of the cover (40) to open the compartment. The tab (58) has a plurality of spaced-apart openings (70) formed therein to create a weakened area to facilitate the separation of the cover (40) from the tab (58).
