A new crystalline modification of 2,4-dioxo-6-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine is disclosed, characterized by the interplanar distances (d) and relative reflex intensity (I). The process for obtaining the said substance involves using a cooling agent to cool a solution of 2,4-dioxo-6-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine in water, an organic solvent or a mixture of both, at a rate of at least 6 °C per minute until the solution has completely crystallized. The crystals obtained are then removed and dried. The substance claimed has anti-inflammatory properties and promotes the healing of wounds and is the active substance in a preparation used in treating burns and wounds of various types.
Une nouvelle modification cristalline de la 2,4-dioxo-6-méthyl-1,2,3,4-tétrahydropyrimidine est présentée. Elle est caractérisée par ses distances réticulaires (d) et par son intensité de réflexion relative (I). Le procédé d'obtention comprend l'emploi d'un agent de refroidissement, d'un solvant organique ou d'un mélange des deux, pour refroidir la solution aqueuse de 2,4-dioxo-6-méthyl-1,2,3,4-tétrahydropyrimidine à la vitesse d'au moins 6 oC par minute jusqu'à ce que la solution se soit complètement cristallisée. Les cristaux obtenus sont récupérés et séchés. La substance faisant l'objet de la demande de brevet a des propriétés anti-inflammatoires et accélère la cicatrisation; elle est la substance active d'une préparation utilisée pour le traitement des brûlures et des plaies de différents types.
